Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. She has been praised for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her film Piano earned her an Oscar. Actresses have an extensive history of working on Broadway as well as Off-Broadway initiatives. Enthusiastic about acting from her school days she played Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. Following a bout of mumps, she went blind on the other side of her ear. But, it did not stop her ambition to become an actor. After studying drama in college after which she relocated in New York City with her goals in mind. Hunter was stuck in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart which marked Hunter's Broadway debut. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began looking for roles in films. Her first film role was in the role of an actress playing the main character in Swing Shift. In the years since, she has been in a variety of television series and movies in a long career that spans over three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
